Through collaborative projects, we address pressing social issues and help individuals thrive. We believe in the potential of every person, and together, we can build a brighter future for all. Our initiatives empower communities to create lasting change.

Initiatives

Education

Access to Learning

Our educational initiatives aim to provide access to books, journaling supplies and learning tools to community members in need. The Common Good Intiative stocks a lending library at a local community center and delivers books and supplies at a weekly free breakfast event held at Lewis Park In Conroe, Texas. We carry books of most genres and take requests from our patrons weekly.

Children's Education

Nurturing Future Generations

We believe that all children should be able to read and play comfortably. To this end, we make an effort to hand out children's supplies, such as crayons, coloring books, Play-Doh/modeling clay, journals, and picture books, in order to introduce young kids to the magic of literacy.

Plant giveaways (where small seedlings are distributed) are held monthly during the spring through fall and are designed to get children and adults alike outside, playing in the dirt and more engaged with the environment.

Community Gaurdening

Protecting Our Planet

We are currently in the process of designing a community garden in partnership with a local non-profit that provides job training and transitional housing to community members in need. When it is ready, the garden will grow a wide variety of foods for anyone in the community to take advantage of.

Blogging

Drawing Cross-Cultural Connections

Out of this website, we run a blog called the Cross-Cultural Connection, discussing any interesting cultural experiences that I have, such as the experiences I had learning about Blackfoot culture when I served on their reservation in Montana as a volunteer.
